How to do… Extended Mountain Pose / Utthita Hastasana in Tadasana?

Another name for this pose is Urdhva Hastasana / Upward Salute. 

It is a variation of Tadasana with arms overhead that gives the body a full stretch and is commonly used in Sun Salutations / Surya Namaskara. It is a Neutrally Rotated Standing Pose. 

  1. Creates space in your chest and lungs allowing freer breath
  2. Full body stretch
  3. Help improve balance
  4. Helps with correct alignment
  5. Stretch your shoulder joints and upper back
